The Hinoshi clan is the originator of this style of sword combat based upon rotational energy to increase the power behind a given attack. An offensive focused style relying mostly on jumping and spinning motions to deflect attacks away while delivering devastating blows. Typically the fighter will use one hand to hold onto the sword and parry away and deliver attacks while leaving a hand open to form jutsu seals and grasp other items as needed. The one weakness of the style is its obvious lack of defense against raw power but it's defense against most ranged and speed based attacks is unmatched. The obvious versatility this style coupled with single hand jutsu training allows shinobi to adapt the Nenten Hagane making it powerful indeed.



Chibaku Giin – Blood Explosion Forged Seal
The Hinoshi clan has created a unique explosive seal that doesn’t act on chakra being applied to the seal but instead of a preexisting seal that when doused in blood explodes. The actual blood fuels these explosions and the power and range of the blast are based wholly on the amount of blood applied to the seal. This forged seal was created as a technique that initially spanned the gap between Kuchiyose and Fuuinjutsu and allowed the use of explosive notes without the need to waste ones chakra in times of dire need. The usefulness of Chibaku Giin is that the seal can be embossed on metal and act as an indefinite explosive seal that doesn’t need to be reproduced or redrawn after a single use. The explosions created by this seal are vastly weaker then standard explosive seals formed by Fuuinjutsu and the use of chakra but the require only blood to activate.

Stages: D-Rank – Genin – The baseline for Nenten Hagane is laid down though actual practice still requires the user to use both hands to maintain control of the weapon. The appearance of the style in use at this level is awkward at best. The aiming of strikes is not as precise and with no hand open for other use the spinning motions do little more then to catch and opponent off guard.

C-Rank – Chuunin – The emphasis on only using one hand to control a wielded weapon is instilled in the practitioner. The style finally begins to take on its intended look and more agility is required to execute maneuvers. The ability to use single-handed kata to perform Ninjutsu is still absent, however, but the of hand is indeed free to use any other ninja tool that might be desired by the user.

B-Rank – Jounin – The Nenten Hagane is developed perfectly and becomes almost second nature for the user. The free hand is available now to perform jutsu but only those C-Rank and below of a basic element. The strikes become more devastating.

A-Rank – Mastery – The Nenten Hagane is developed perfectly and becomes almost second nature for the user. The free hand is available now to perform jutsu but only those B-Rank and below of a basic element. The strikes become the most devastating and the defense against projectile weapons is almost perfect.

Description: a Fuuinjutsu technique utilizing both kuchiyose techniques as well as explosive notes. The user will seal a large amount of explosive notes into a scroll and later call them forth by applying their blood to the scroll. The summoning in itself is explosive and launches the exploding tags in all direction while turning the summoning scroll to ash almost instantly. The effort required to complete the summoning scroll and its accompanying explosive notes takes up three days of hard work and effort by the maker.

Description: a highly advanced Ninjutsu technique. The user will force chakra to flow through the chakra circulatory system at an extremely rapid rate and then release it through all 361 tenketsu. This causes the chakra to react with the air immediately around the body in such a way that it ignites. For the duration of the release, a continuous, chakra enduced flame surrounds the users body. The downside to this technique is that the fire burns so intense that the heat will damage the skin and body as if the person was actually set on fire. The damage dealt to the chakra circulatory system is also unavoidable as multiple uses in a short time frame can cause tears in the system resulting in a slow death. These downsides however are overshadowed by the ability of this technique to ignite a foe ablaze by landing only one punch.

Description: a highly advanced Ninjutsu technique. Requires identical seals to be drawn over the heart tenketsu on both bodies in the blood of both the user and the target. This completes a soul contract recognized by the death god. If the user should die before the target, the target will die in the users place and vice versa. This technique cannot and will not extend a persons natural lifespan but obviously very effective in preventing an untimely death. Due to the obvious ethical and spiritual taboo of this technique, it has never been knowingly attempted.

Clan History

History: The beginnings of Clan Hinoshi exist in time before even the creation of the now, Five Great Ninja Villages. The Hinoshi were originally a tribe of scribes, scholars and tacticians living somewhat peacefully in an area that is now apart of Earth Country. During the first of the Great Ninja wars, their tribe assisted others in battle by utilizing the vast knowledge they possessed on various subjects. More warlike tribes became just as dependant on the Hinoshi’s tactical knowledge as the Hinoshi did on the protection many of the warlike tribes provided them and that was where the Hinoshi began to develop into the people they have come today.

The leader of the original Hinoshi tribe, Akahate, was a paragon of a man that possessed not only a far-reaching knowledge but also tremendous physical prowess. Akahate trained himself in combat under other tribes and was the first to encourage other able bodied men to do the same. The other tribes and clans of the Earth Country at first embraced the Hinoshi’s embracing of the focus of war and looked to them in times of need during great battles.

It was Akahate’s knowledge and warlike prowess that made his region feared as highly as any other and soon his clan began to develop a wholly new form of techniques, Fuuinjutsu. The simple amount of power simple pieces of paper and ink could grant mere mortals was amazing. Explosives soon became sometime common to the battlefield and Fuuinjutsu creations began to evolve as the knowledges began to permeate and mix throughout the world.

This evolution, for the Hinoshi resulted in a perverse creation by Akahate, a seal that could breakdown and bind the very spirit of a friend or enemy. Needless to say, many of the more warlike tribes envied this knowledge and sought to steal it away from the clan. Akahate saw that the power of his creation would be abused and moved his entire clan into hiding in a single night. This hiding did not last for long, however, and their former allies attacked the clan. To convince Akahate to give them his knowledge, the original Hinoshi tribe was destroyed until only Akahate remained. It was with great sedness that the Hinoshi knowledge passed to the other tribes of Earth Country and eventually led to the sealing of the first bijuu, Gobi.

Having his great knowledge stolen from him and abused to create nothing but tools of war, Akahate grew mad from grief. Because of his creation, his entire world had been shattered by greed and there was little to consol the man besides revenge. The fallen leader spent years of his life creating powerful techniques and seals and amassing other power before returning to those tribes that had once spurned his family and laid waste to every last soul he came across. Rumors began to spread that this power came because Akahate sold his soul to a god but no stories have ever proven this.

With his soul appeased, Akahate retired into seclusion and started a new family. Most of his old knowledge was hidden away and kept secret to prevent future loss. Time passed by with just the standard turmoil of time and when the five Great Nations were founded, Akahate chose to remove his growing family away from it all. Akahate’s conviction against the Shinobi Nations passed through the generations until the founding of the village of Kasaigakure.

Because they possessed no Kekkei Genkai of merit, the clan parlayed a few of their elders’ extensive knowledge with seals into a lucrative business providing exploding notes to first Kasai ninja and then to other nations. Over time, the clan grew in power and political influence. This allowed the “patriarchal bloodline” extensive training in the ninja arts through the best available tutors, which produced a select few high-ranking shinobi in Kasai history. The clan after all these years seemed to come full circle.

Clan Hinoshi stayed loyal to the Kasaikage serving diligently until one faithful night when their success would be shattered by another tragedy. Fire and explosions ripped through the Hinoshi village killing every member of the “Patriarchal bloodline” that ruled the clan. The incident was all explained away as a tragic accident and the clan faded into obscurity without definite leadership but in reality however these fires were caused by the eldest daughter of the then reigning patriarch. She escaped with a large amount of the clan’s secret techniques and the current political situation of the clan began to develop.

Eventually a new patriarch, Ibaku, was established and to better deal with the strife in Kasaigakure the clan was moved in full to Konohagakure to be under protection of the Hokage. With the disappearance of Hinoshi Ibaku, a purist faction in the clan began to from within the clan and return to Kasaigakure. Even with the development of this purist faction the bulk of the clan still exist in Konoha fitting in to the everyday life of the village.
